Cypress Hill embraces the full power of its bilingual history on Dios Bendiga, the group’s first album performed entirely in Spanish. B-Real and Sen Dog sound at home over music directed by longtime percussionist Eric Bobo, with DJ Lord adding scratches that keep the group’s hip-hop foundation intact. “Otra” brings reggae into the mix, while “Estamos Listos” and “Rosas Verdes” spotlight the chemistry at the center of Cypress Hill. The album also opens its doors to Latin American rap talent, including Alemán on “Wacha Trucha” and Trueno on “Saca La Bolsita.” With Mellow Man Ace and Sick Jacken joining the celebration, Dios Bendiga connects generations, regions and cultures through the group’s unmistakable sound.
